Big Bass spawn is on at Stickmarsh

Well a couple of full moons have passed and the weather has jumped from spring like to cold. This next full moon in March will set off a flurry in the Stickmarsh. Alot of fish have been on beds but the great majority will spawn the next couple of moons. We have been getting alot of 6-8 lb fish. Some on shiners but alot on hand poured Haulin Bass baits. They are a softer fatter version of a Senko type bait. Square bill baits and jerkbaits are working well also. Carol from Oklahoma has the biggest fish this season for us; weighing in at 10.4 and right at 25.5 inches. It has been submitted to Trophy Catch. Dress warm because cold weather is still around in the mornings but by afternoon I have been shedding layers and seeing temps at 70 degrees. Water temps are fluctuating during the day and clarity has been fair. Not like last year; yet. Got a new Float on aluminum trailer for the Trusty Triton TR 21. man much easier to tow and launch the boat. Best trailer on the market. If you want to fish I have some dates left in March and have rented a killer house on Lake Fork Texas, can sleep up to 14 people, $50 per day per person. World class lake during their peak spawn, call for availability.   Gotta go got a busy week Capt Mike0129151153e01221511170129151349

July Stickmarsh Huge bass report

July has been hot, raining and lots of thunderstorms. That being said, fishing also has been hot. This month we have put over 10 fish over 8 pounds in the boat. Some shiner fishing but alot of them were fooled on artificials too. Senkos, dropshot and deep crankbaits are working for me now. Shad are on top early and the schoolers are attacking them before the sun gets high up. Top water baits like pop r and chug bug worked slowly are taking the toll. Don’t forget that the small ones are on top and BIG girls are lurking under them waiting on easy pickins so try a rattle trap or medium running crank under the schools to fool a PIG. As the sun gets up we have been going deeper. Using the Lowrance HDS find schools bunched up. Look for streaks on the graph, this is fish attacking the bait, if they are static; try them and move on if they don’t bite.  When the sun is hot and overhead, alot of times the bait is on top too, keep an eye out and have a topwater or trap ready to hurl at them. Come to Stickmarsh to catch the Bass of your life. You can’t catch one if you don’t go.   Thanks   Capt Mike439 (306x408) 437 (306x408) 448 (306x408) 435 (306x408) 434 (306x408) 408 432 438 (306x408) 448 (306x408) 645 (520x520) 450 345 402 (408x306) 404 (408x306) 414 387 363 367 382 354 338 337 284 229 292
